Being a real nature kid I began fishing with my Dad when aged 3 and hunting at not much older. While friends drew sketches of cars and houses, I drew animals and birds. My first attempt at taxidermy was to mount a possum climbing a tree, I was then aged 12. The interest in taxidermy continued from then on.
In January 1996 I opened my own business, then aged 22. Over the ensuing years business has steadily increased and throughout I have endeavoured to provide top quality with personal service. I maintain a keen interest in new ideas and methods in taxidermy.
I have travelled many times offshore, to Africa, Asia, America and Australia visiting various taxidermists and natural history museums, and hunting with the locals. Several months were spent in America studying the animals and different taxidermy methods.
I have a great team of enthusiastic workers. All administration, freighting and documentation is done by our Office Administrator, with the rest of the team dealing with all the various jobs involved in taxidermy, salting and processing skins, form preparation, making artificial habitat bases through to packing crates etc.
We are all very keen outdoors people and have a love of our beautiful mountains and streams and the animals that live in them.
I pride myself on the quality of my work and extend an open invitation to visit my workshop and display area. A courtesy phone call is appreciated prior to visiting.
